How to Heal Your Body and Defend Yourself Against Covid-19*

June 12, 2021

Welcome to my Health Saturday’s B.R.E.A.T.H.S. blog post. This space I have opened to discuss my lifelong battle with the genetic connective tissue disorder, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), type-3: hypermobility (HEDS). I started this health blog in May 2021 and described my lifelong difficulties with frequent falling, breaking bones, bruising easily, temperature control issues, subluxing/dislocating, and mental health issues associated with HEDS. There is no known cure for EDS, only ways to manage it, and depending on the type, it is most likely not going to be life-threatening.

Managing My Disability

Throughout the years, I have managed my HEDS with diet and exercise as I mentioned in last month’s blog. I also manage my mental health through strategies that I post on my Self-care Sunday’s B.R.E.A.T.H.S. blog posts. With the help of a combination of specialists such as my doctors, author’s self help books (I review on my Reading Tuesday’s B.R.E.A.T.H.S. blog posts), and energy healers/lightworkers (booking special guest practitioners to discuss their art of healing), I am going to explore with you several tips on how to heal your own body on my Health Saturday’s B.R.E.A.T.H.S. blog posts. Last week, I posted a list of 20 different naturopathic practices that I am going to explore with you on how you can interact with other specialists who can help you heal your body. This week, I am going to explain my thought patterns that lead me to write my Health Saturdays blog, starting with Louise Hay’s book, “Heal Your Body.”

“Heal Your Body” by Louise Hay

Louise Hay’s “Heal Your Body” book came to me in 2018 when I was learning how to deal with a compounding amount of mental, physical, and emotional pains. It was then I realized I had the power to change my old thought patterns to heal my dis-eases (pains and ailments taken on from a build up of old thought patterns). Basically, dis-eases we are not born with, we can make go away, because we are born free and pure of any thought patterns or societal belief systems (BS). This book helped me to realize my potential on how to heal my own body, explore more ways to maintain my health, and help others maintain theirs by eliminating all the BS in our lives.

Reference Book I Carry With Me Everywhere

The main thing about “Heal Your Body” that is different from all my other books, is that it is a reference book. It is not a book I could just finish reading in one day. I continued using it daily working on all my dis-eases and ailments. The physical book is small, less than 100 pages, and can easily fit into a small purse or backpack. I carried the book everywhere I traveled telling all my friends how I use it to help me heal all my dis-eases. I ended up leaving the book in Florida with one of my friends who was in the hospital for several weeks. They needed it much more than I did, and shortly after receiving the book, they were released from the hospital! They still have the book, I ended up purchasing the eBook, which was less money and more accessible to read on all my mobile devices.

How “Heal Your Body” Worked for Me

Majority of the book is read vertically, turn the book to see three columns: List of diseases (problems) in alphabetical order, the metaphysical cause or old thought pattern that creates our experiences (cause of problem), and affirmations to state aloud that will eliminate old negative thought patterns (replace with new positive thought patterns). Louise Hay states in her 1982 book, “Heal Your Body” doesn’t heal anyone, but it helps to awaken our own healing journey. “When someone has an illness, no matter what their dire predicaments seem to be, if they are willing to do the mental work of releasing and forgiving, almost anything can be healed,” were the words in Louise Hay’s (1982) book that started me on my healing journey in 2018 (she passed away in her sleep, August 30, 2017).

My Healing Journey

First, I made a list of all my dis-eases as her book suggests. I instantly saw that my metaphysical causations all had to do with pent-up anger and fear. Next, I worked on each ailment, one at a time, speaking the affirmations aloud multiple times daily until they all disappeared. Lastly, I continued seeking other books, special practitioners, and resources to maintain my newfound healthy body, mind, and spirit.

My Thoughts and Reactions to Covid-19

After a few years of learning how to heal my own body, the entire world was hit with a pandemic, Covid-19. The first thought I had when I learned about Covid was to Google the symptoms. Next, I made a list of the Covid symptoms and similar dis-eases. Then, I filled in Louise Hay’s book probable causes and new thought patterns to make the problems go away. Below are the symptoms of Covid-19 (and similar dis-eases), metaphysical reasons for the dis-ease (old thought patterns), and affirmations (help eliminate the old thought patterns) derived from Louise Hay’s book, “Heal Your Body” (1982):

Dis-eases (Problem)Metaphysical causations or mental thought patterns that form our experiences (Probable cause)Affirmation to replace old thought patterns (New thought pattern)
Aches (p.10)Longing for love. Longing to be held.I am love and approve of myself. I am loving and lovable.
Cough (p.27)A desire to bark at the world. “See me, listen to me!”I am noticed and appreciated in the most positive ways, I am loved.
Diarrhea (p.29)Fear. Rejection. Running off.My intake, assimilation, and elimination are in perfect order. I am at peace with life.
Fatigue (p.34)Resistance, boredom. Lack of love for what one does.I am enthusiastic about life and filled with enegy and enthusiasm.
Fever (p.35)Anger. Burning up.I am the cool, calm expression of peace and love.
Headache (p.39)Invalidating the self. Self-criticism. Fear.I love and approve of myself. I see myslef and what I do with eyes of love. I am safe.
Lung (p.49)The ability to take in life. Grief. Fear of taking in life. Not feeling worthy of living life fully.I take in life in perfect balance. I have the capacity to take in the fullness of life. I lovingly live life to the fullest.
Nausea (p.52)Fear. Rejecting an idea or experience.I am safe. I trust the process of life to bring only good to me.
Respiratory ailments (p.60)Fear of taking in life fully.I am safe. I love my life.
Sore throat (p.65)Holding in angry words. Feeling unable to express the self.I release all restrictions, and I am free to be me.
Throat problems (p.68)The inability to speak up for oneself. Swallowed anger. Stifled creativity. Refusal to change. It’s okay to make noise. I express myself freely and joyously. I speak up for myself with ease. I express my creativity. I am willing to change.
Similar dis-eases:
Bronchitis (p.22)Inflamed family environment. Arguments and yelling. Sometimes silent.I declare peace and harmony within me and around me. All is well.
Colds (p.26)Too much going on at once. Mental confusion, disorder. Small hurts. “I always get colds” type of beliefI allow my mind to relax and be at peace. Clarity and harmony are within me and around me. All is well.
Influenza (p.45)Response to mass negativity and beliefs. Fear. Belief in statistics.I am beyond group beliefs or the calendar. I am free from congestion and influence.
Pneumonia (p.49Desperate. Tired of life. Emotional wounds that are not allowed to heal.I feely take in Divine ideas that are filled with the breath and intelligence of life. This is a new moment. I am powerful, safe, and secure. All is well.

Lastly, what I realized after reviewing this list, is that most of the symptoms probable causes were fear, anger, and inability to take in life fully. I felt a sense of relief, because I know that I have already worked on every one of those symptoms and was not worried about getting any of them back, ever. My reaction to Covid-19 was that I no longer have fear of illness or disease, so it did not phase me because I felt I have defended my body with proper health, knowledge, affirmations, and love. I used the entire year of 2020 lockdown working on forgiveness to release any left over anger (link to my forgiveness post from last week) and reading books that will help me become limitless in the areas of health, wealth, and love.

Conclusion

Our bodies are resilient sources of energy, and we possess the power to heal ourselves and others with that same light source. This energy connects us all, humans, nature, everything made up of matter. I believe when a person taps into their own light source, they will find a tremendous amount of abundance in everything including the ability to lead healthy, fulfilling, joyous lives.

Sending lots of love and healing energy,

Dr. Jaime Brainerd, Ed.D.

  1. This book sounds amazing and I like how you listed the Covid symptoms, the probable cause and the new thought pattern. I need to check out this book. Thanks again for a blog to think about.
