Spring Art: Paintings, Photography, & Poetry

Thursday, October 20, 2022

Welcome back to Art Thursdays of my B.R.E.A.T.H.S. blog where I invite you into Brainerd’s Brushstrokes and Photography studio. During this month of October, I am sharing the different seasons from my perspective in acrylic paintings, iPhone photography, and a seasonal poem. The first week I shared my Autumn Art, last week I posted my Winter Art, and this third week, I am giving you the visual sensation of my Spring Art.

WTF Are These Flowers?

Spring Poetry by Jaime Brainerd

Sunshine emerges from a slumber shining, melting, and warming

Parents, graduates, and religions celebrate during holidays of of Spring

Roots thaw and start to push nutrients up to the stems, blossoms, and seedlings

Irises, roses, and daphnes send out fragrant scents of Spring

Nests start to fill up with sticks, eggs, and chicklings

Growing, learning, and singing the songs of Spring

Springing to Conclusions

There were unique phases to my acrylic paintings that go from a little realistic, to #hashtag craze, and then when Covid had us on lockdown there was an interesting change in my artistic expressions. Picking my favorite pictures of flowers for this post was difficult, so I tried to find themes to create collages, and I limited them to 8 types of flowers: dew, hibiscus, lily, multi-color, pollinated, sunflowers, sun-kissed, and wtf are these flowers. Which are your favorite pieces?

Thank you for reading and viewing,

  1. What a way to start my day by seinf your gorgeous paintings and photos. I showed Lia and hers and my favorite photographer is of your sunflowers! Have a wonderful day, filled with hugs and love.

  2. I love this idea and your art is beautiful! I live in California and, being an avid hiker, we always look forward to the beautiful, resilient California Poppies returning every Spring. There are so many gorgeous poppy fields to admire in California, although I’m told that, no matter where one lives is North America, there is at least one type of poppy that will thrive there.
