He’eia Kea Boat Harbor

My friend Kristin and I are so ready for a fun adult day out at the Kaneohe Sandbar, which is how she regularly spends her Saturdays living on the island of Oahu. Her family has a giant raft with two motors attached to help propel us from the He’eia Kea Boat Harbor out to the sandbar, which is approximately two miles offshore. We backed the truck up to the boat harbor to unload the stuff, air up the raft, and attach the motors. Set up with four chairs, a cooler, and a dry storage box, we were on our way to a fun filled Saturday out on the sandbar.

Kaneohe Sandbar

We passed a bunch of paddle boarders, kayakers, party boats, sailboats, and yachts, who were all staring in awe and waving at our unique ocean vessel. Once we were out on the sandbar, we set up an anchor, and walked around in knee deep water. After a few hours and some intermittent showers in eighty degree weather, the tide rose the water up to our waists. We danced to music, drank some adult beverages, got some nice tans, snapped a few pictures in my graduation cap, and thoroughly enjoyed another day with Jaime in Hawaii in July.
